About Me
I am a 14 year-old Grimsby fan who has a passion for my local side. I have followed Grimsby Town since I was 4 years-old and my love for The Mariners has never failed to cease. I've experienced extreme highs and lows with Grimsby, from scoring a late winner against Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur, in the League Cup, to seeing us be relegated out of the Football League, with just 4 years separating these two events.
Many people ask me why do I follow a non-league side home and away, instead of sitting at home every Saturday, watching some overpaid prima-donnas fall over at the slightest touch, whilst they have millions of pounds tucked away in their bank accounts. Well the answer to that is simple. Passion. 11 men. 90 minutes. 1 aim.
As you may have already gathered, I am not a fan of the modern football system. I'm not a fan of the fact that money has turned supporters into customers. I'm not a fan of the way clubs would rather buy a multi-million pound foreigner than bring a local lad up through the academy system.
Moving away from my rant about the demise of English football, this blog is designed to give football fans an insight into non-league football. As I follow Grimsby to almost every single game, home and away, I will be bringing match reports, news, stories of my away days and pretty much everything Grimsby Town related.
I've also set up this blog as I feel it would be beneficial in my pursuit of a career in football journalism.
So on a final note, I hope you all enjoy my blog and can gain a greater understanding of lower league football from it.
